    The EWP Multi-Family Light Commercial Manager is responsible for providing leadership and guidance for growth of Boise Cascade EWP in the multi-family/light commercial (MF/LC) building segments and fire initiative products on a regional/national basis. This position will have responsibility for the Eastern U.S. region.


    Responsible for specialty products (engineered wood products & fire product) field sales, customer services, extensive training and technical representation of products to code officials and specification community (Engineers, Architects, Specification Writers, etc.) customers, wholesale distributors, and MF/LC focused retail lumberyards. Prepares competitive analysis of competitor product lines to identify gaps in Boise EWP’s offerings. This role will be focused on business development opportunities and key initiatives identified by senior management as areas of focus.


    Conduct technical training seminars for contractors, architects, and code enforcement personnel. Build good working relationships with customers’ management team, channel partners, buyers and key end-users. Stay abreast of competitor activities. Identify new product development opportunities by working with customers to identify needs. Contribute to the development of new products, services, marketing, and introduction promotional plans. 


    Basic Qualifications: College Degree or equivalent work experience in related job function. Experience in engineered wood products and / or other related wood products sales into multi-family/light commercial construction markets. Strong understanding of application of engineered wood products including design loads and other criteria with the ability and desire to learn are critical to success. Knowledge of specific/proper use of LVL and I-joists in MF/LC construction. Extensive travel required.


    Preferred Qualifications: Prefer degree in related field or equivalent sales management experience. Prefer more than 10 years of experience in related job function, with a minimum of 5 years demonstrated sales experience in wood/building products and/or construction industry. The successful candidate must demonstrate effective organizational skills; excellent presentation and communication skills; effective interpersonal skills with all levels of management and personnel, external customers and industry associations. Experience with plated truss use a plus.
