Supports branch efforts to develop and maintain a safety culture to improve the safety & health of all employees through safety policies, preventative maintenance, reporting, and training criteria. Helps evaluate processes to ensure continuous improvement in location safety performance. Works with location management, and Division Safety team to support development and execution of safety programs and initiatives. Works with other safety leaders and professionals to develop and share best practices. Understand and apply fundamental mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). Maintain good housekeeping in work area. Support safety programs, OSHA, and DOT regulatory compliance. Assist with preparing appropriate reports and communicating safety results. Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Basic Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required. Working Conditions are in a normal office environment with minimal physical activity; some travel may be required (less than 10%).
Preferred Qualifications: Must possess effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills; advanced knowledge of computer software such as Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint a plus, as well as additional web based program applications. Typically more than 3 years’ experience in related job functions; may require technical certification(s) or associates degree. Candidates with experience in safety related activities in a distribution business environment desired.
