Sprays, pours, and applies lubricant onto gears and other moving parts of machine or mechanical equipment to complete scheduled lubrication preventive maintenance on machine centers; fills container, such as oilcan, grease gun, or tank, or wells and sumps of lubricating systems with specified lubricant. Employee will also change out any necessary filters on lubrication and air filtering and handling systems to complete PM requirements; monitors condition and function of automatic lubricant system and turns or adjusts valves to regulate flow of oil as needed; inspects moving parts of mechanical equipment to detect wear and determine need for lubrication or other designated corrective action; reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor or maintenance planner; records and maintains production, repair, and machine and equipment maintenance information; cleans machines, sweeps floors, and transports stock to maintain work area; collects oil samples from gearboxes, and monitors oils sample data from 3rd party testing, and performs follow up corrective action as they are identified; performs all work in compliance with establish SOP’s and safety procedures currently in place at Roxboro EWP; will assist maintenance employees with job tasks as necessary to accommodate the maintenance needs of the facility.
High school diploma or GED.
At least 18 years of age.
Technical training, OR at least three (3) years of experience in manufacturing/industrial Maintenance field.
Strong mechanical skills.
Willing and able to:
Work any shift, holidays, weekends, scheduled/unscheduled overtime as needed
Work a twelve (12)-hour shift
Work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment
Lift up to 50 lbs.
Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day
Wear the necessary Personal Protection Equipment (i.e. hard hats, safety glasses, face shield, chemical suit, respirator, ear plugs, hearing protection, steel-toe boots or safety shoes and other PPE required by specific jobs)
Work effectively in a team environment
Sign a confidentiality agreement as a condition of employment
Submit to a background check/drug test
Work in a tobacco-free work environment
Experience in lumber or wood products
Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
